About

My artistic practice is deeply rooted in the natural world and my upbringing in rural Scotland. Through material exploration, I explore themes of multispecies entanglement, ecological awareness and personal geographies. Connecting to the environment, I see my work as a collaboration with nature and an act of environmental stewardship.

This exploration extends into the structures and shapes of natural objects and plants found in the countryside and Scottish coast, creating tactile work that responds to the Anthropocene.

The act of collecting, abstracting, and composing pieces allows me to deepen my connection to these landscapes and convey their essence in my work.

Through my art, I aim for the viewer to stop and observe the layers and details. Forcing them to slow down and reconnect with their environment in a world consumed by social media.

I want my work to evoke a childlike sense of discovery followed by a deeper sense of respect and recognition for the beauty and fragility of what surrounds us, which is often taken for granted.
